Our group did a presentation today on Internet dating, the dating detective, getting back into it, and is eharmony biased against gays. This was a fun topic for the first time and the research done on the topic was interesting. My presentation was, is eharmony biased against gays and another interesting topic was Internet dating.
When reading the article about eharmony I looked at both point of views the writer John Cloud was upset that they didn't have the option when logging in, man seeking man or women seeking women. The only options were men seeking women and women seeking men, but the founder of eharmony Neil Warren describe as a conservative christian said, We've done research on about five thousand married people, but never same sex. So we don't know how to do that, and he thinks the principles probably are different, and since same-sex marriage is illegal is most states, they don't advertise it since the web site is focus on marriage. John Cloud the writer also stated, there are plenty web- sites focus on same-sex relationships.
Internet dating also was a big discussion in class today, everyone had there different opinions on the subject and also shared some of there experience with Internet dating. There are several dating web-sites, you have web-sites were people are looking for long-term relationships, and you have web-sites for one night stands. My opinion in today's world you really can't trust people, and I watch to many lifetime movies so Internet dating wouldn't be my first option. I prefer the old fashion way, but that's the new thing going on. I know a few people who meet there spouses online and so far things are working out with each of them. But with my luck I would have met that one psycho path in the whole bunch, thank god I'm already married.
