Blog #17

Well being off for a week it's hard getting back into the swing of blogs. I'm sitting here wondering were to start. Well here goes. We had to read articles so the two articles I picked were, My space v. face book competing addictions and colleges scans. These articles were the most interesting out of the bunch. And since our comparsion and contrast essay is about face book and my space I figured I would read more on each website.

My space and face book has become addictions in today's society. The article compares the two websites to a drug addictions. Network junkies, count the minutes til there next profile fixing. Which I thought that was hilarious, because I really feel that way when I'm on face book, I try to log off but for some reason I just can't log off. According to Hit wise as of last week my space domain is one of the most visited amongst U.S. Internet users. Meanwhile , Face book has been increasing steadily, taking the position of the ninth most popular domain.

Colleges scan facebook during admission, was the next article that I was interested in. colleges admission officers are viewing students online facebook pages before final acceptances in college. That means a face book picture from a weekend party can cost a student a spot on a premier campus. Mark D. Weinstein stated "I believe most colleges will do whatever it takes to recruit the right type of students to their respective institution.

Well I exactly made it through this blog, I don't think that week break from writing was a good idea for me. But I talked about some interesting statics about face book, and myspace. I also talked a little about how colleges scan facebook for students that they see fit for admission. I talked more about myspace and facebook, it was a little more exciting than college scans.
